What We Believe

About the Bible

We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, a divine revelation from God to man.

We accept the Bible as the final authority in all matters of faith and conduct (II Timothy 3:16).

About God

We believe there is only one God (Deuteronomy 6:4). He is the creator of heaven and earth, and of all living beings. He has revealed Himself to humanity as the Father (Creator), as the Son (Savior), and as the Holy Ghost (indwelling spirit).

We believe that God came to us manifested in the flesh as Jesus Christ, born of a virgin (Matthew 1:23); that he lived a sinless life (Hebrews 4:15), was crucified on Calvary for our sins (Matthew 26:28), and rose from the grave (Romans 6:9).

We believe that Jesus Christ is the only mediator between God and man (I Timothy 2:5).

We believe that through his death and life we may have personal salvation and power for victorious living (Romans 6:5-7).

About the Gospel and Salvation

We believe the saving gospel is the good news that Jesus died for our sins, was buried and rose again.

We believe that all men have sinned and need salvation (Romans 3:23). This may be obtained through obedience to the gospel message. We obey the gospel by repenting of sin (Acts 2:38), being baptized in Jesus’ name by immersion in water, and being filled with the Holy Ghost with the initial sign of speaking in other tongues (Acts 2:4).

About Christian Living

As Christians we are to love God and others (Luke 10:27). We are to live a holy life both inwardly and outwardly (II Corinthians 7:1). This will affect our thoughts and attitudes as well as conduct, speech, amusements, and dress. Holiness is not a means of earning salvation, but is a result of salvation.

About the Future

We believe Jesus Christ is coming again for His church. In the end, there will be a final resurrection and a final judgment. The righteous will inherit eternal life and the unrighteous eternal death (I Thessalonians 4:16-17; Revelation 20:11-15)
